Hawaiʻi Energy Policy Forum Emphasizes Importance of Sustainability

The Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority was proud to participate in Hawaiʻi Energy Policy Forum’s (HEPF) 2023 Legislative Briefing Event at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa on January 12. Led by HEPF Chair Mark Glick, the event brought together a diverse group of leaders to engage in discussions on Hawaiʻi's path toward energy self-sufficiency and a net-zero carbon future in conjunction with Hawaiʻi Climate Week.

HTA is committed to mālama ʻāina, caring for and nurturing our natural resources for the well-being of our home today and into the future. HTA President and CEO John De Fries concluded a panel discussion on “Malama ʻĀina: Place and Value-Based Energy Planning & Deployment,” sharing how Hawaiʻi’s visitor industry continues to prioritize sustainability and community-driven action which is essential to achieving Hawaiʻi's Aloha+ Challenge and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
