Oʻahu Farmers' Markets Showcase Agricultural Abundance

Nov 18, 2022

There’s a farmers’ market almost every day of the week on Oʻahu, reflecting the island’s agricultural abundance and the creative spirit of the island’s food artisans. Enjoy colorful produce, fresh caught fish, and locally raised beef, pork, and chicken. Savor freshly brewed coffee made from Hawaiʻi-raised beans and chocolate crafted from island-grown cacao. Take home island-made cookies, confections, and lots more. “Talk story” with local farmers and food makers as you learn about Oʻahu’s food ways. Top farmers’ markets include those sponsored by the Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau and FarmLovers Farmers Markets.

The need to protect and uplift Hawaiʻi agriculture is important to kamaʻāina, and the visitor industry offers potential paths and partnerships to do so. These partnerships grow Hawaiʻi's momentum toward a model of regenerative tourism.

HTA is a signatory to Hawaiʻi’s Aloha+ Challenge, with increasing local food production as one of its six main goals, as well as the ʻĀina Aloha Economic Futures Declaration, which speaks to a circular economy of which food and agriculture is an integral part.
