HTA and Kauaʻi Visitors Bureau Hold Kauaʻi DMAP Community Meetings
The Hawai‘i Tourism Authority (HTA) and Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau (KVB) hosted two (2) community meetings to share on the Kaua‘i Destination Management Action Plan.
Meetings were held on August 16, 2022, at the Royal Sonesta Kaua‘i Resort in Līhu‘e and on August 17, 2022, at the Church of the Pacific in Princeville.
The public was invited to participate in these informational meetings by learning about the plan and the steps being taken to rebuild, redefine and reset the direction of tourism.
Information shared included actions that are being implemented in collaboration with numerous community, industry, and government partners. These actions include educating visitors about mindful travel prior to and during their visit, supporting increased management and protection of the island’s natural resources, investing in the perpetuation of Hawaiian culture, supporting local businesses, and managing hotspot locations.
Both meetings were well-attended and the consistent call to action was to join together to learn more about how to Mālama Ku‘u Home…Care for our beloved Kaua‘i! #EkūlikeKākou
