Kauaʻi Visitors Bureau Partners with Kauaʻi Invasive Species Committee Community and Hōʻike Community Television
Kauaʻi Visitors Bureau (KVB) partners with Kauaʻi Invasive Species Committee (KISC) and Hōʻike Community Television to feature informational videos on ‘Ōhi‘a and Rapid ‘Ōhi‘a Death (ROD), Little Fire Ants (LFA), Biocontrol, and Growth of a Native Forest just to name a few.
You may be asking, “Who exactly is KISC and what do they do?” KISC is a voluntary collaboration of government, private and non-private organizations, who, along with concerned individuals focus on preventing, controlling and/or eliminating the most threatening invasive plants and animal species. Their concerted efforts work towards preserving the native biodiversity of our nani (beautiful) Kaua‘i.
KVB partnering with KISC addresses Action item A.6 in the Kaua‘i Destination Management Action Plan with hopes to mitigate and minimize adverse effects to our island ecology, economy and social bearing in our community.
